as defined by climatic conditions, including its ability to withstand the minimum temperatures of the zone. The concept of Hardiness
Zones was created by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and spread to by used by many countries around the world.
Hardiness zones in Japan extend from ゾーン 4b on Hokkaido to ゾーン 13 on the island of Iwo Jima. The Hardiness zones in
